HTML5 export options

Learn about export settings, format options, and property mappings for HTML5 package output in Adobe InDesign.

When exporting content to HTML5, several properties are derived from settings used in the Publish Online workflow (File > Publish Online). These properties influence how the exported package is structured and how content is represented.

Option

Description

Title

Defines the name of the exported folder.

Description

Not included in the exported HTML5 package.

Pages

Determines whether All pages are included or a specified Range as defined in the Publish Online dialog box. When exporting through File > Export > HTML5, all pages are included.

Export as

Defines how content is split into HTML files:
Single: Each page is exported as an individual HTML file linked to index.html.
Spread: Each spread is exported as a single HTML file linked to index.html.

Enable Password Protection

Not applicable to HTML5 export.

Cover Thumbnail

Includes thumbnails in the exported HTML5 package.

Image Settings

Uses the image settings defined in the Publish Online dialog box, including Format, Resolution, JPEG Image Quality, and GIF Options Palette.

Google Analytics

Adds the Google Analytics tag to index.html when specified in the Publish Online dialog box. Ensure user consent requirements are met when hosting the content.
