Add and manage text styles from CC libraries

Learn how to add, apply, and manage paragraph and character styles using Creative Cloud libraries in Adobe InDesign.

You can add InDesign paragraph or character styles to your CC Libraries and then share these across documents, devices, or users. You can add paragraph or character styles from text in a document, from the Paragraph or Character panels, or from the New Character Style or New Paragraph Style dialog boxes. 

Add paragraph or character styles from text in a document

Use the Type tool to select text that has the required paragraph or character style applied.

Select Window > CC Libraries.

Select the Add elements icon, then select the Paragraph style icon or Character style icon. The style is added to the corresponding category in the CC Libraries panel.

Add styles from Paragraph Styles or Character Styles panels

Select Window > Styles > Paragraph Styles or Character Styles.

Select one or more styles or select a group to include all styles within it.

Select the Add selected style to my current CC Library icon.

Add styles from New Paragraph Style or New Character Style

Select Window > Styles > Paragraph Styles or Character Styles.

Select the panel menu icon, then select New Paragraph Style or New Character Style.

Specify the options to create a new style.

Select Add to CC Library, then select the required CC Library from the drop-down menu.

Select OK.

Add CC Library styles to Paragraph or Character panels

Select Window > CC Libraries.

Navigate to the required Paragraph or Character style.

Right-click and select Add to paragraph styles or Add to character styles.

Apply a CC Library paragraph or character style to text

Select a text object in the active document.

Select Window > CC Libraries.

Navigate to the required Paragraph or Character style.

Right-click and select Apply paragraph style or Apply character style.
