Motion preset options in InDesign control how animations behave, including timing, movement, and appearance. These settings help you refine animations for interactive PDFs, EPUBs, and other digital documents.

Animation panel options

Option

Description

Name

Displays the name of the selected object or animation.

Preset

Applies a predefined animation effect to the object.

Event(s)

Defines how the animation starts, such as On Page Load, On Page Click, On Click (Self), On Roll Over (Self), or On Button Event.

Reverse on Roll Off

Reverses the animation when the pointer moves away from the object (available with roll over).

Duration

Specifies the duration of the animation.

Play

Defines how many times the animation plays, or whether it loops.

Speed

Controls animation pacing (None, Ease In, Ease Out, Ease In and Out).
