Manage assets in Creative Cloud Libraries

Learn how to organize your Creative Cloud content in Adobe InDesign.

Use these asset management operations to organize colors, character styles, paragraph styles, graphics, and text stored in your Creative Cloud Libraries. These operations work on assets that already exist in your libraries—whether you created them or received them through library sharing. To manage assets, you must have edit permissions for the library. For libraries you created, you automatically have full permissions. For shared libraries, check with the library owner if options appear dimmed.

Rename, delete, or duplicate assets

Select Window > CC Libraries, then select the library containing the assets you want to rename, delete, or duplicate.

Right-click one or more assets in the CC Libraries panel.

For a single asset, select Rename, Delete, or Duplicate from the context menu.

For multiple selected assets, select Delete Selected Items or Duplicate Selected Items.

For renaming, type the new name and press Enter.

Note

Deleting an asset removes it from the library but does not affect instances already placed in your InDesign documents.

Copy or move assets between libraries

Select Window > CC Libraries, then select the library containing the assets you want to copy or move.

Right-click one or more assets in the CC Libraries panel.

For a single asset, select Copy to or Move to from the context menu.

For multiple selected assets, select Copy selected items to or Move selected items to.

In the submenu, select the destination library and select Copy.

Moving an asset removes it from the current library and places it in the destination library. Copying creates a duplicate in the destination library while leaving the original intact. Both operations preserve all asset properties, including names and styling information.

Search for assets by name

Select Window > CC Libraries, then select the library containing the assets you want to work with.

Select the search scope from the dropdown menu: Current library, All libraries, or Adobe Stock.

Type the asset name in the search box and select Enter.

Search results appear immediately in the panel. To display all assets again, clear the search box or select Current library from the dropdown, and ensure the search field is empty.
