Preview and present interactive documents

Learn how to use preview and presentation tools to test interactive elements and present documents in Adobe InDesign.

InDesign provides tools to preview interactive elements and present documents in full-screen mode before exporting. Use the EPUB Interactivity Preview panel to test interactivity and Presentation Mode for distraction-free viewing.

Before you begin

Keep Adobe Connect or other screen-sharing software configured for web meetings.

Preview interactive elements

Select Window > Interactive > EPUB Interactivity Preview.

Select your preview scope:

Set Preview Spread Mode : Preview the current spread.

Set Preview Document Mode: Preview the entire document.

Select Play Preview to activate the preview.

Test interactive elements by selecting buttons, playing animations, or triggering multimedia directly in the preview panel.

Navigate between pages using the left and right arrows at the bottom of the panel.

Tip

Alt-click (Windows) or Option-click (macOS) the Play Preview button to replay the preview from the beginning. Use Clear Preview to reset the preview state.

Present documents in Presentation Mode

Select View > Screen Mode > Presentation.

Navigate forward through spreads by clicking the mouse, pressing the Right Arrow key, or pressing Page Down.

Navigate backward by pressing Shift while clicking, pressing the Left Arrow key, or pressing Page Up.

Press Esc to exit Presentation Mode.
