Manage table and cell styles in InDesign to edit, clear, and redefine formatting across tables. Table styles control the overall table appearance, while cell styles define formatting for individual cells. Updating, clearing, or redefining styles helps maintain consistency and reduces manual formatting.

Edit an existing style

Select Window > Styles > Table Styles or Cell Styles.

Right-click the style name in the panel and then select Edit [style name].

Set formatting in the Table Style Options or Cell Style Options dialog box.

Select OK.

Clear table and cell formatting

Select Window > Styles > Table Styles or Cell Styles.

Select a table or cell from the Table Styles or Cell Styles panel.

Select Delete icon or right-click and select Delete Style.

Redefine a table and cell style

Select Window > Styles > Table Styles or Cell Styles.

Select a table or cell from the Table Styles or Cell Styles panel.

Select the panel menu  icon and choose Redefine Style.
