Learn how to rename or delete PDF bookmarks in Adobe InDesign to organize navigation entries before exporting your document.
Bookmarks created in an InDesign document appear as navigation entries in exported PDFs. Once you create bookmarks for a PDF, you can rename them to update navigation labels or delete unwanted entries before exporting to PDF bookmarks to simplify document navigation, without affecting the source content.
Rename a bookmark
Select the bookmark you want to rename.
Select the panel menu icon, then select Rename Bookmark.
Type the new name in the Name field, then select OK.
Delete a bookmark
Select Window > Interactive > Bookmarks.
Select the bookmark you want to remove.
Select the panel menu icon, then select Delete Bookmark.
Select OK to confirm the deletion.
