Export proxy files by creating standalone lower-resolution copies of your media that can be used independently of your original high-resolution files.
Exporting proxies can be helpful for various reasons, such as sharing work-in-progress with collaborators, reducing file size for archival purposes, or editing on a less powerful computer.
Complete editing your project while working with proxy files.
By default, Premiere Pro uses full-resolution media while exporting, even if you have enabled proxies. If you want to export proxies, explicitly specify it in the Export Settings dialog box while exporting your project.
- Select Export in the top header bar.
- Configure your export settings as needed.
- In the Media File > General section, select Use Proxies.
- If necessary, select Use Previews to further speed up the export process. When this option is selected, Premiere Pro uses the rendered previews if a section of the timeline has both a rendered preview and proxy media.
Result
Premiere Pro quickly renders and exports the selected clips or projects using proxies instead of full-resolution files.
