Last updated on Jan 25, 2024

Crossfading between audio clips is a common technique in audio editing to create a smooth transition from one clip to another, avoiding abrupt changes in sound.

Before you begin

Make sure that the two audio clips are adjacent, and that both clips are trimmed.

Add crossfades

To add crossfades between audio clips:

  1. Vertically expand the audio tracks that you want to crossfade.
  2. With visual fade handles on the audio clip, select and drag across the neighboring clip to create a custom crossfade.
UI shows crossfade effect between two audio clips.
Expand the interactive fade handles on the edges of clips to create crossfades between clips.

Result

The crossfade effect is applied to the audio. Play back the clip to hear the transition.
