Last updated on Dec 14, 2023

You can add keyframes directly from the Effect Controls panel to animate layers, such as text, shapes, and paths.

Animate layers using keyframes in the Effect Controls panel.

Before you begin

Create a project, add media to the timeline, and add an effect. Enable the Effect Controls panel by selecting Windows > Effect Control.

  1. Locate the layer you want to animate in the Effect Controls panel.
  2. Move the timeline cursor to the point where you want to add the keyframe.
  3. To toggle animation for the desired property, select the Stopwatch  icon.
  4. Select the Add/Remove Keyframe icon next to the property name.
  5. To access interpolation settings such as Bezier curves and Ease In or Ease Out, right-click a keyframe.

Result

The animation keyframes added for different properties using the Effect Controls panel animate the selected layer.
