View keyframes in the Effect Controls panel

Last updated on Dec 14, 2023

Learn how to view keyframes added to Effect Controls panel.

You can view keyframes in the Effect Controls panel if you’ve added keyframes to a sequence clip. Any effect containing keyframed properties displays Summary Keyframe icons when the effect is collapsed. Summary keyframes appear across from the effect heading and correspond to all the individual property keyframes contained in the effect. You cannot manipulate summary keyframes as they appear for reference only.

Before you begin

Create a sequence, add effects and keyframes to the clips, and enable the Effect Controls panel.

  1. Select a clip in the Timeline panel.
  2. Select the Show/Hide Timeline View button in the Effect Controls panel to show the effects timeline. If the button isn't visible, widen the Effect Controls panel.
  3. In the Effect Controls panel, select the icon next to the effect name to expand the effect you want to view. The keyframes are displayed in the Effect Controls timeline.
  4. If you want to view the Value and Velocity graphs of an effect property, select the icon next to the Toggle Animation icon.

Result

You have the list of effects applied to the selected clip with visible keyframes and properties assigned to them in the Effect Controls panel. You can use the panel to expand the properties, change values, and refine your animation in the sequence.
