Learn more about the Control Surface preferences in Adobe Premiere Pro.

Control Surface preferences refer to settings that allow you to configure external hardware for more efficient and tactile video editing. These control surfaces can be physical devices with knobs, buttons, and sliders that provide hands-on control over various aspects of your editing workflow.

Set the default Control Surface preferences.

Adjust the options within the Control Surface tab of the Preferences panel.

UI option

Function

Add

Lets you add a device. You can add EUCON or Mackie.

  • EUCON is a control protocol developed by Avid. It is often used with Avid control surfaces but can also be compatible with other devices.
  • Mackie is a widely supported protocol for control surfaces and is used for communication with editing software.

Edit

Select this option to specify the MIDI Input Device and MIDI Output Device for the selected control surface.

Remove

Select this option to delete Control Surfaces in your configuration.
