Learn how to mute input while recording an audio file in Premiere Pro.

Before you begin

Be aware that muting input can prevent feedback or echo when the computer is connected to speakers.

  1. Choose Edit > Preferences > Audio (Windows) or Premiere Pro > Settings > Audio (macOS).
  2. Select Mute input during timeline recording.

Result

Your input will be muted to prevent any recording of any extra voice or echo.
