Adobe Acrobat for WhatsApp lets you open and work with PDFs you receive on WhatsApp Web or WhatsApp for Windows, directly in Acrobat. You can quickly edit, manage, and share PDFs without switching apps. It allows you to:
- Edit PDFs shared on WhatsApp
- Share PDFs back to WhatsApp as links or copies
- Use Send to WhatsApp for fast, one‑click sharing
Supported: WhatsApp Web on desktop and laptop browsers. Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge are recommended.
Not supported: WhatsApp Desktop app, WhatsApp mobile app, or WhatsApp Business API.
To access this integration, you need WhatsApp Web or the WhatsApp Windows app, an Adobe Acrobat account, and the Acrobat extension or app installed on your device.
You can view PDFs and use basic tools for free. An Adobe Acrobat subscription is required for advanced editing features. If you’re not signed in or don’t have a subscription, Acrobat prompts you to sign in or upgrade when you try to edit.
This functionality is being rolled out in phases and is currently available only to a limited set of users. If you don’t see the Acrobat features within WhatsApp yet, you’ll get access as the rollout expands.
Sharing PDF copies to WhatsApp is supported only through the Send to WhatsApp flow when the file originates from WhatsApp. Direct copy sharing isn’t currently supported.
Yes, PDFs remain associated with your Acrobat session and WhatsApp conversation. Password-protected files retain their security restrictions.
