Learn how to split a PDF file into multiple PDFs.

You can easily divide large PDF files into smaller, more manageable sections using Acrobat on the web. This feature allows you to select specific pages or ranges to create separate PDF documents efficiently.

  1. On the Acrobat on the web homepage, select Edit > Split a PDF.

  2. Choose Select a file and browse on your device to upload the PDF you’d like to split.

  3. Select the dotted horizontal divider lines to mark the pages to be split into separate PDFs.

    Tip:

The dotted lines turn into blue lines when you select them. Depending on the number of pages in your PDF, you can select up to 22 divider lines to split it.

The image displays page thumbnails separated by dotted lines. One dotted line is selected and highlighted to mark the split position.

You’ll see the file pages with dotted lines between them. You can select dotted lines between the page thumbnails to indicate a split at that position.
  4. Select Continue.

  5. In the Save your split files dialog box that opens, select the Save in a new folder checkbox to save the split PDF files in a separate folder.

  6. Select Save.

The PDF is split into multiple PDFs and saved to Adobe cloud storage. You can access the files from the Recent or the Documents section.
