Learn to avoid garbled text after PDF conversion.

Source PDF quality is low

If the PDF file you're exporting was originally created in Microsoft Word and then converted to PDF using Print to PDF or Scan to PDF, the conversion quality may be low.

For high-quality conversion, use Convert to PDF to transform your document to PDF before exporting it.

  1. On the Acrobat on the web homepage, select Convert > Convert to PDF

  2. Choose Add a file from your device and browse to upload the desired file.

  3. Once the PDF is ready, select Convert from the top menu.

  4. Under Export a PDF to, select a desired format and then select Convert to [selected format].

Scan quality is low

Scanned documents with skewed pages, smudges, or marks are difficult to convert accurately. To ensure high-quality PDFs, rescan the document and ensure that the pages are straight and clean before using Export a PDF again.
