Shader Settings panel
Image of Shader Settings panel.
The Shader Settings panel is where you can configure how the shader renders your assets on the mesh in the 3D viewport.
Global parameters
Global parameters don't impact your project but change aspects of Sampler.
- Number of samples: Adjust the number of passes that the shader uses. More samples means a higher quality render.
- Displacement quality: Adjust the amount of subdivision used for tessellation displacement.
- Shadows: Toggle shadows on or off.
At the lower right of the 3D view are shortcuts to adjust Displacement quality and Height Scale, as well as toggle shadows.
Material parameters
Material parameters let you adjust how your current material is rendered by the shader.
Parameter name | Description |
---|---|
Normal Scale | Adjust the strength or intensity of the normal map. |
Height Scale | Change the strength of the displacement effect. |
Height Level | Change the base level of the height for displacement. |
Emission Intensity | Adjust the strength of emissive maps. |
Index of Refraction | Adjust the angle at which light refracts off surfaces. |
Coat Index of Refraction | Adjust the angle at which light refracts off the surface coat. |
Coat Normal Scale | Adjust the normal scale specifically for the surface coat. |
