Learn to select one or more clips in the Adobe Premiere timeline using the right selection tools to move, delete, or apply effects.
Select the Selection Tool (V) tool from the Tools panel.
Do one of the following using the Selection Tool (V) tool:
- Select a single clip.
- Hold the Shift key and select each clip to select multiple clips.
- Hold Alt (Windows) or Option (macOS), then select only the audio or video portion of a clip.
Tip
Selecting a linked clip selects both the audio and video. To disable this behavior, select the Linked Selection icon in the top-left corner of the Timeline panel.
The clips appear highlighted in the Timeline panel. You can now move, delete, or apply effects to the selected clips.
