Last updated on Apr 2, 2026

Learn how to enhance audio in Adobe Premiere by adjusting track-level effects to balance tone, improve clarity, and shape your sound.

Use the Audio Track Mixer to move, copy, or reorder audio track effects when you want to adjust gain staging or change the signal flow.

Select Window > Audio Track Mixer.

Select the Show/Hide Effects and Sends icon in the top-left corner to view the Effects and Sends panel.

Select an effect in the Audio Track Mixer

Move or copy an effect within a track:

  • To move an effect: Select it and drag it to a new position in the track.
  • To copy an effect: Select it, hold Ctrl-key (Windows) or Cmd (macOS), and drag it to a new position in the track.

Move or copy an effect between tracks:

  • To move an effect: Select it, hold Ctrl-key (Windows) or Cmd (macOS), and drag it to another track.
  • To copy an effect: Select it and drag it to another track. A duplicate of the effect is created.

To copy and paste an entire audio effects rack between tracks, right-click the top of the rack and select Copy Track Effects. Then right-click another rack and select Paste Track Effects.

Pasted audio effects racks include all the effects and settings from the original track. You can adjust individual settings in the pasted rack without affecting the original or other tracks.
