Assign multiple audio channels

Last updated on Apr 2, 2026

Learn how to assign a track to multiple stereo channel pairs in Adobe Premiere to route audio to different outputs in your sequence.

Select Window > Audio Track Mixer.

In the Audio Track Mixer panel, locate the mono or standard track to assign to multiple channel pairs.

Select the Direct Output Assignment icon for the track. This icon appears in the track's output section.

In the Assign Stereo Pairs, select the checkboxes for all desired stereo pairs. For example, select 1+2 and 3+4 to send the audio to both stereo pairs.

Select OK to apply the channel assignments.

The audio from the track will be routed to all selected stereo pairs. Verify the assignments by reviewing the sequence and monitoring audio levels in each channel pair.

Tip

By assigning various tracks to different combinations of stereo pairs, you can create different mixes for different output purposes. This technique enables the creation of separate mixes tailored to different delivery requirements.

To modify these assignments later, select the Direct Output Assignment icon again and modify your selections.
