Create a color matte

Learn to create a solid clip in Adobe Premiere to use as a background, overlay, or transition in your sequence.
In the lower-right of the Project panel, select New Item icon and then select Color Matte.
In the New Color Matte dialog box, adjust the Width, Height, Timebase, and Pixel Aspect Ratio to match these settings for the sequence in which you'll use the color matte.
Select OK.
In the Color Picker dialog box, select a color for the color matte and then select OK.
Enter a name for the color matte and select OK.
