Learn to delete individual clips, remove gaps, or use ripple delete to streamline your timeline editing workflow in Adobe Premiere.

Removing clips from your sequence is a fundamental editing task that helps you refine your story by eliminating unwanted footage. You can delete clips individually, remove multiple clips at once, or close gaps between clips to maintain a continuous timeline. Ripple delete removes clips and automatically closes the resulting gap in a single action.

Select the clip you want to delete in the sequence. To select multiple clips, Shift-click each clip or drag a marquee over them.

Press Delete to remove the selected clips.

After deleting clips, gaps may remain in your sequence where the clips were located. You can remove these gaps separately or use ripple delete to simultaneously remove clips and close gaps.
