Learn how to find clip usage across sequences in your project and view each instance’s timecode in Adobe Premiere.

Identify where and how often a clip appears in your project. This helps prevent duplicate use and ensure consistency.

Select Window > Projects and select your project.

Select the clip you want to check in the Project panel.

Select the timecode icon at the lower-right corner of the clip thumbnail.

A prompt displays the timecode location for the clip in all sequences where it's used.

View all sequence locations and timecodes where a clip is used.

Select a timecode in the pop-up.

The playhead in the Timeline panel jumps to that clip's location in the sequence.

Find the number of times a clip has been used:

  • Right-click the menu icon in the Project panel.
  • Select Metadata Display.
  • Select Video Duration from the Premiere Pro Project Metadata dropdown to add it as a column.

Select OK.

A list appears showing the clip name and timecodes for each instance, confirming the clip’s locations across sequences.

Tip

Right-click (Windows) or Ctrl-click (macOS) a clip in the Timeline panel and select Reveal In Project to quickly locate the original source clip in the Project panel.
