Copy and paste audio effects in the timeline

Last updated on Apr 2, 2026

Learn how to copy audio effects from one section of a track and paste them to another location in the Adobe Premiere timeline.

You can copy track effects from one section of a track and paste them into another. When pasted, the track effect keyframes land at the current-time indicator location. Targeting tracks don't affect the position of the pasted keyframes.

Select Window > Timelines and select the timeline.

Select one or more track keyframes in the timeline. To select multiple, select and hold the Shift key and select each keyframe.

Select Edit > Copy.

Move the current-time indicator to the new position on the audio track.

Select Edit > Paste.

If the destination audio track differs from the original, ensure that it's expanded to match the original.

Tip

Each audio effect includes a bypass option that allows you to turn the effect on or off as specified by the keyframes that you set.
