With the Public beta program, you can try out experimental features and builds of Substance 3D Modeler before they reach full release. Public beta builds are generally less stable than the current non-beta build of Modeler, so we advise that you avoid using the Public beta for time-critical work.
Joining the Public beta is easy, and doesn't require an existing Creative Cloud subscription. Find out how to join the Public beta here.
The release notes below show the differences between Modeler's current Public beta and Retail versions.
Public Beta 1.8.50
Features:
- Asset library
- Search the Asset library for objects that match objects that you’ve blocked out.
- Asset library content can work as a good starting point or reference, or be useful as background content to help flesh out your scene.
- Access the Asset library panel on the right side of the Top bar on desktop, or in VR, on the left side of the support controller while the Palette is open.
- Select one or more objects in your scene, then tap Match selection to search the Asset library.
- You can also enter keywords or use the Include and Exclude checkboxes to refine the search.
- Select one of the results that appear to replace your selection with the asset.
- If you don’t want to replace your selection, switch to the Add Import mode at the bottom of the Asset library panel.
- The Increase resolution algorithm has been updated to better maintain sharp edges and details.
Fixes:
Fixed a bug that could occur when switching between Elastic and Inelastic warp with different settings.
