GPU rendering is disabled
Issue description
GPU rendering is disabled in the render settings.
Recommendations
Check system requirements
GPU rendering is only available on Windows devices with a compatible RTX NVIDIA card.
If you are on a Mac or are on a Windows device with a non NVIDIA card you cannot enable GPU rendering.
If you are on an NVIDIA card it must support RTX ray tracing with Vulkan which is generally supported in RTX 2000 series or newer.
Update to the latest GPU drivers
Drivers are regularly updated by the GPU manufacturer. We recommend updating your drivers as the first step to fixing most issues.
Set the preferred graphics card with the NVIDIA Control Panel
For any device with both integrated and discrete graphics cards the NVIDIA Control Panel can be used to tell a software which card is preferred. The GPU may sometimes be disabled if the automatic detection and switching isn't functioning as normal. Use the NVIDIA Control Panel to tell the software which processor to use.
- Open the NVIDIA Control Panel application
- Navigate to Manage 3D settings
- Select the Program Settings tab
- Under Select a program to customize option locate Adobe Substance 3D Stager in the list.
- If Stager does not appear in the list by default press the Add button to locate the installed software
- Select the high performance NVIDIA processor as the option for preferred graphics program for Stager
