Overview
Adobe Connect enables you to create state-of-the-art digital training, webinar, and collaboration experiences. For an overview of Adobe Connect, see www.adobe.com/products/adobeconnect.html.
The Adobe Connect 9.8.1 release incorporates various improvement requests, incrementally replaces Flash with HTML5 in Connect Central Web application pages, and resolves several bugs.
Release dates
Adobe Connect 9.8.1 rolls out in the following phases:
Hosted services:
Starting June 17, 2018, see Adobe Connect Downloads and Updates to know the migration schedule for your account.
On-premise deployments:
The week of July 9th, 2018.
Managed services:
Contact your Adobe Connect Managed Services (ACMS) representative to schedule an update.
What's new in Adobe Connect 9.8.1
This release includes the following improvements:
- Redesigned HTML interfaces for audio provider and user manager controls in Adobe Connect Central (Adobe Connect web application)
- Version upgrade for JRE to version 1.8.0_172.

Adobe Connect application
This update does not include a new version of the Adobe Connect application. However, Adobe recommends that you update to the latest version to use the various improvements and fixes released earlier in 9.7.5.
You are prompted to install the new Adobe Connect application in the following scenarios:
- You share your screen or PowerPoint (PPTX format) files without installing the Adobe Connect application.
If you are an administrator, ensure that end users have the latest Adobe Connect application and Adobe Flash Player (version 13.0 or later) installed. Download the Adobe Connect application from this page, or directly from the following URLs:
Adobe Connect application 64-bit (beta release)
This update includes an optional updated 64-bit beta version of the Adobe Connect application to join meetings. The current 32-bit versions of the Adobe Connect application continue to work with the Adobe Connect 9.8.1 release. Adobe recommends that you try the new beta versions and share feedback.

Upgrade paths for on-premise deployments
Here are the prerequisites for this release:
- From Adobe Connect 8.x, first upgrade to Adobe Connect 9. Then, update to Adobe Connect 9.8 before applying this patch.
- From Adobe Connect 9.x, update to Adobe Connect 9.8 before applying this patch.
