Adobe Connect 10 Release Notes

Overview

Adobe Connect enables you to create state-of-the-art digital training, webinar, and collaboration experiences. For an overview of Adobe Connect, see www.adobe.com/products/adobeconnect.html.

The Adobe Connect 10.0 release introduces a new HTML client for participants. Adobe Connect 10.0 also includes HD video support and UI improvements for the desktop application. It incorporates various improvement requests, and provides SSO support out of the box. It incrementally replaces Flash with HTML5 in Connect Central Web application pages, and resolves several bugs.

Release dates

Adobe Connect 10 rolls out in the following phases:

Hosted services:

Starts on Oct 14, 2018. See Adobe Connect Downloads and Updates to know the migration schedule for your account.

On-premise deployments:

Will be available in December.

Managed services:

Contact your Adobe Connect Managed Services (ACMS) representative to schedule an update.

What's new in Adobe Connect 10.0

HTML client for participants

The new HTML client available in Adobe Connect 10 provides a faster and more accessible experience for participants. It is available for all Adobe Connect room types: Meetings, Virtual Classrooms, and Seminars.

HD video

A new HD (720p) option is now available when setting your video quality in Adobe Connect 10.

Single sign-on (SSO)

Out-of-the-box single sign-on (SSO) to link Adobe Connect with third-party SAML 2.0 based identity providers (IDP).

Miscellaneous improvements 

  • New Login Page experience. 
  • UI improvements to the Adobe Connect desktop application
  • The Chargebacks and Event Leads Generated pages in Adobe Connect Central have been redesigned in HTML5.
  • Option to add check box question as a type of Registration question in Event Manager
  • Option to add text block supporting some HTML elements in Registration questions in Event Manager

Adobe Connect application

This update does not include a new version of the Adobe Connect application. 

You are prompted to install the new Adobe Connect application in the following scenario:

  • You share your screen or PowerPoint (PPTX format) files without installing the Adobe Connect application.

If you are an administrator, ensure that end users have the latest Adobe Connect application and Adobe Flash Player (version 13.0 or later) installed. Download the Adobe Connect application from this page, or directly from the following URLs:

Upgrade paths for on-premise deployments

Here are the prerequisites for this release:

  • From Adobe Connect 8.x, first upgrade to Adobe Connect 9. 
  • From Adobe Connect 9.x.

Participants using the HTML client may experience a delay of ~2 seconds in VoIP when the Attendee pod is moved in/out from a meeting with 500 users.

In the SSO workflow, a guest user is unable to enter a meeting using a browser if the user name is prefilled in the registered user name tab.

Join as a registered user, or remove the pre-filled user name in registered users tab.

Due to a known limitation in Safari browsers, for participants who join a meeting using the HTML client, a newly plugged in mic is not detected.

Refresh the browser and join the meeting again. Alternatively, plug in the mic before joining the meeting using the HTML client.

HD Video appears squished when published through Adobe Connect application for mac.

Use Adobe Connect Flash Browser client on Mac to publish HD Video.
