InDesign for Apple silicon

Run InDesign faster in native mode on Apple computers using the Apple silicon M1 chip.

Release 16.3 onwards, InDesign runs in native mode on Apple computers using the Apple silicon M1 chip, for faster performance than previous generation systems.

Known differences and limitations

InDesign has minor feature differences when running under the native mode and the Rosetta emulation mode.

Legacy third-party (Intel-only) plug-ins

Intel-based plug-ins will not work in ARM native mode in InDesign. Run Intel-based plug-ins with InDesign on Rosetta until your plug-in provider delivers Apple silicon-compatible versions.

Cannot start or connect to Adobe Bridge from InDesign.
