Adobe app installation taking longer than usual

Is your Adobe app (such as Photoshop, Acrobat, or Illustrator) taking too long to install? Try the steps below if the installation seems to be stuck or frozen.

Try this first

The Creative Cloud desktop app manages the installation of your apps such as Photoshop, Acrobat, and Illustrator. If the installation seems stuck or frozen, repairing the Creative Cloud desktop app usually fixes the issue.

Note: If you are installing your app on a Windows machine for the first time, the installation might take longer than expected.

  1. Close all your Adobe apps and make sure you're connected to the Internet.

  2. Download the Creative Cloud desktop app uninstaller for your operating system.

  3. Double-click the .zip file and then double-click Creative Cloud Uninstaller.

  4. (macOS only) If prompted to open the file, select Open and then enter your Apple system password.

  5. When prompted, select Repair.

  6. Once the Creative Cloud desktop app is repaired, open it and install your app. (You may be prompted to sign in first.)

Still having trouble?

If you still can't install your app, try using the uninstaller again to fully uninstall the Creative Cloud desktop app.

  1. Double-click the Creative Cloud uninstaller from step 2 above.

  2. When prompted, select Uninstall.

  3. Once the uninstallation completes, select Close. Then reinstall your Adobe app.
