Learn how to add interactions to objects in an Adobe Captivate project.

Object-level interactions

Object-level interactions in the all-new Adobe Captivate refer to interactions that you can apply to an object or objects in a project.

For more information on creating your first object-level interaction and other details, view Interactions in Adobe Captivate.

Here are the triggers available at an object level. With the help of a trigger, you can apply an action to objects. The action executes when a learner clicks or hovers on the triggered object.

  • Click/Tap: An action occurs after you click or tap an object.
  • Double-click: An action occurs after you double-click an object.
  • Hover: An action occurs after you hover on an object.
  • Right-click: An action occurs after you right-click an object.
  • Mouse-out: An action occurs after you move the pointer out of an object.

Create aN OBJECT-level interaction

In this example, you'll add a Click/Tap trigger to an image. At runtime, when a learner clicks the object, a specified action takes place, taking the learner to the next slide.

  1. Select Add media blocks > Image Grid in the left toolbar.

  2. Replace the default images in the grid. For more information, view Images in Adobe Captivate.

  3. Select the image to which you want to add an interaction.

  4. Select Interactions in the right toolbar.

  5. Click Add an interaction.

  6. Select a trigger, for example, Click/Tap.

  7. In the Action panel, select Go to slide.

  8. After selecting the action, decide if you want any transition effects in the interaction. Select any transition effect and specify its duration.

  9. Click Done.
