Follow along with any project to learn how to retouch images.

  1. On the Photoshop on the web homepage, under Start something new, select Upload an image and browse for a file on your device.

  2. Select Retouch > Healing brush .

  3. In the options bar, select Set source and position the pointer over an area to set the sampling source.

  4. From the Sample dropdown menu, choose the required option: Current layer, Current and below, All layers.

  5. Adjust the sliders for Brush size and Brush hardness in the options bar.

  6. Select More options  and adjust the sliders for the following:

    • Diffusion: Controls how quickly the pasted region adapts to the surrounding image. Select a lower value for images with grain or fine details, and a higher value for smooth images.
    • Angle: Specifies the angle by which an elliptical or sampled brush’s long axis is rotated from the horizontal.
    • Roundness: Specifies the ratio between the brush’s short and long axes. A value of 100% indicates a circular brush, 0% indicates a linear brush, and intermediate values indicate elliptical brushes.
    Tip:
    • To use the same offset for each stroke, keep the Aligned option enabled, and to vary the diameter of the Healing brush tool based on the brush pressure applied while painting, enable Use pressure for size.
    • Enable the Ignore adjustment layers option to ignore the adjustment layers when healing.
  7. Paint over the area that you want to retouch with the sampled source area.

  8. Select Download.
