Select an image to open it in detail view, and then select Edit .
-
Use the Detail panel sliders to sharpen edges and enhance detail while reducing image noise.
Tip:Noise includes luminance (graininess) and chroma (colored artifacts), both of which are common in photos taken at high ISO speeds.
-
Move the Sharpening slider right to enhance details. Select the expand icon for advanced controls:
- Radius: Adjusts the size of sharpened details. Use lower values for fine details, higher values for larger ones. Too high can look unnatural.
- Detail: Controls how much high-frequency information is sharpened. Lower values sharpen only edges; higher values enhance textures.
- Masking: Determines where sharpening is applied. At 0, sharpening affects the entire image; at 100, it’s limited to strong edges.
-
Move the Noise Reduction slider right to reduce luminance noise. Use the expand icon for:
- Detail: Balances noise reduction and detail preservation.
- Contrast: Adjusts contrast, with higher values keeping contrast but risking noise, and lower values smoothing the image.
-
Move the Color Noise Reduction slider to the right to reduce color noise.
-
Select the expand icon to adjust the Detail and Smoothness of image.
- Detail: Controls the color noise threshold. Higher values protect thin, detailed color edges but may result in color speckling. Lower values remove color speckles but may result in color bleeding.
- Smoothness: Higher values apply a softened effect to the speckled color tones.
