Troubleshooting & help

You can download your app from the Creative Cloud website. If prompted, sign in to your Adobe account, then click either Download or Install for your app. In the Creative Cloud app, go to Account > Preferences > Apps and enable Show older apps to download the Dimension app. For more information, see Download your Creative Cloud apps.

To check the minimum and recommended hardware specification, see System requirements | Adobe Dimension.

Yes! You can download trial versions of any Creative Cloud app, including Adobe Dimension, from the Creative Cloud apps catalog. Sign in with an Adobe ID and password to download an application. For detailed instructions, see Download and install a Creative Cloud trial.

To regain access to your account, read these simple solutions for common Adobe ID and sign in issues.

You can install Adobe Dimension and other Creative Cloud apps on up to two computers. If you want to install it on a third computer, deactivate it on one of your previous machines. Learn more about activating and deactivating Creative Cloud apps.

To know about the supported types of 3D models and some best practices for creating content for Dimension, see Import and Export formats.

Adobe Dimension is a 3D design tool that combines high visual quality and ease of use for designers. To create realistic objects, Adobe Dimension uses materials defined in NVidia's Material Design Language (MDL). Adobe is working alongside NVidia and other partners to create a standard material template called the Adobe Standard Material.

The Adobe Standard Material simplifies and abstracts some of the more complex and technical aspects of features available in MDL to present an easier and more intuitive interface for non-3D-familiar users.

To know about the properties exposed in the Adobe Standard Material and the texture map types that can be used for each property channel, see Adobe Standard Material properties.

Dimension enables the use of image based lighting, so you can automatically generate lighting setups by using both panoramic HDR images, or even standard 2D images. You can learn more about lighting your scene by modifying the Environment or by using Image Matching.

To learn about the render and export options available in Adobe Dimension, see Rendering and exporting in Adobe Dimension.

A list of keyboard shortcuts is available here. You can also modify keyboard shortcuts from the Preferences menu.

Sign in to your Adobe account. Then click Change for Current password and follow the onscreen instructions. Forgot your password? Learn how to reset and change it.

To change your credit card information, see update your credit card and billing information.

Switching Creative Cloud plans is easy, see upgrade or change your plan.

Converting your trial to a paid membership is easy. Follow these step-by-step instructions to upgrade and start your membership.

If you cancel your membership, you still have access to Creative Cloud member free benefits and any files you saved to your device. You won't have access to apps or most services and your cloud storage is reduced to 2 GB. Learn how to Cancel your Creative Cloud membership and understand the Adobe subscription terms.

Graphic designers use the app to create:

  • Advertising or product shots
  • Product design
  • Scene visualizations and concept mockups
  • Abstract art
  • Package design
  • Logo or branding design

An overview of the most recent changes is available on the What's new page.

3D assets are, in general, larger than 2D assets. Adobe Dimension uses multi-threading and can consume as much computing power as is available on your computer. For this reason, it runs much faster on more recent multi-core hardware. Check the minimum and recommended hardware specifications.

You may encounter an error with video drivers when your system is using an outdated version of an Intel driver with a known issue, which results in Adobe Dimension being unable to display graphics. Updating to the latest version of the driver released by Intel resolves this error.

This is usually caused by unsupported graphics situations.

  • Check if you are above the minimum system requirements.
  • Update your video card drivers (Windows).
  • Unplug secondary monitors.
  • Unplug external GPUs.

Poor UVs are generally the cause of these issues.

Choose Object > Generate UVs to have Dimension automatically replace the current UVs with new generated UVs. This will solve some issues, such as overlapping and missing UVs. If generating UVs does not solve the issue, it may have to be fixed in a dedicated modeling or texturing application.

The total quality of a 3D output has several dependencies.

First, the resolution of the images used for your texture or decal.
Second, your models UVs, which are the way the model flattens into 2D space for images to map onto the surface.
And finally, your output size (the resolution the image will render at).
Note: Vector formats like AI and SVG will rasterize at their current size on import.

To improve the quality of your images, you can:

  • Check the size of original vector files (AI/SVG) and use a large enough size.
  • Choose Object > Export UVs to check the UVs of your object. The area you are applying a graphic to may not have enough UV resolution. In this case, you may have to manually UV your object in a modeling application.
  • Check the resolution of your texture or decal compared to your output size. If you are rendering at large resolution but using small textures, that will lead to blurry renders.

Select the object. Use the menu Camera > Frame Selection to move the camera to the objects position.

If the object is still not visible, it may have incorrect normals or another geometry issue, which must be fixed in a modeling application.
