Learn how to apply Adobe Fonts or Custom Fonts to text.
You can add texts with unique fonts for attractive designs. After you apply fonts to text, use typography settings to customize text styling in your artwork.
You must have a premium account (e.g. Fresco + PS in iPad, PS Single app, CC all apps) in order to add more fonts or access the premium Adobe Fonts.

Select the Horizontal type
tool or the Vertical type tool to customize how your text appears on the screen based on your design needs.
Design logos, signages, flyers, posters, book covers, and more with the Horizontal type or Vertical type tools
The Vertical type tool is currently available on iPad only.
Work with East Asian type options

Navigate to Settings , and then select App settings > General > Interface.

Toggle on Enable East Asian type options to activate East Asian characters.

Open the Layer properties panel, select the Kerning model section, and then choose one of the following models:
- Metrics-Roman only: Applies metrics kerning to Roman fonts.
- Metrics: Uses the pair kerning information in Roman fonts.
- Optical: Adjusts the gap between adjacent characters based on the shape of the characters.
Note:You can toggle on Proportional metrics to adjust the kerning according to the proportional metrics of your font.
- Metrics-Roman only: Applies metrics kerning to Roman fonts.

Navigate to the Text direction section to set the direction of your text.

Upright
Half-width characters are upright in vertical text.
Sideways
Half-width characters are rotated sideways in vertical text.
Tate-chu-yoko
A block of horizontal type laid out within vertical type lines. Using Tate-chu-yoko makes reading half-width characters such as numbers, dates, and short foreign words easier.

You can format the text and the font using the text properties available in the Text section of the Properties panel:
- Font type: Choose a font from the drop-down list. You can browse through thousands of fonts from Adobe Fonts, included as part of your Creative Cloud subscription. For more details, check out Activate fonts.
- Font style: Tap to view and change the font style options for the selected font.
- Font size: Specify the size of the font.
- Line spacing: Specify the spacing between two lines of text.
- Letter spacing: Specify the spacing between letters in the text.
- All caps: Tap to convert all letters in the text to uppercase. Tap again to go back to the previous casing.
- Small caps: Tap to convert all letters in the text to lowercase. Tap again to go back to the previous casing.
- Align text: You can select a suitable option to align your text.
The ability to browse Adobe Fonts directly in Windows isn't available yet.
Activate and use Adobe fonts
Fresco on the iPad provides a comprehensive typography toolkit that you can use to choose the right font for your artwork.
Adobe's subscription-based online fonts library (Adobe Fonts) offers unlimited high-quality fonts from hundreds of type foundries. Browse and activate these fonts instantly from Fresco on the iPad or go to fonts.adobe.com.
Resolve missing fonts
If a font in your cloud document is unavailable on your iPad, Fresco automatically substitutes the missing font with the nearest matching font available.
