VIP Marketplace: Licensing options

With VIP Marketplace, the administration of licenses is very manageable and flexible, with licensing options to meet your organization’s or institution's needs. To save you time and effort at renewal, licenses renew automatically by default on your Anniversary Date, and you can adjust quantity and change products as needed before your Anniversary Date. VIP Marketplace offers three licensing options to fit your organization’s needs:

Annual subscription

An annual subscription allows VIP Marketplace Members to pay up front for a 12-month license subscription.

Extended paid-up-front subscription

Before placing the first VIP Marketplace order, Members may pay upfront for an extended term of up to 48 months for education institutions and 36 months for others. This option makes it even easier for you to meet your purchasing and budgeting needs. With this option, you receive extended license periods and can select an Anniversary Date that aligns with your organization’s budget schedule. Before signing up for VIP Marketplace, please discuss this option with your reseller.

3-year commit subscription

A VIP Marketplace Member agrees to auto-renew a set number of licenses (Minimum Commit) on Member’s first and second Anniversary Date in VIP Marketplace.  In exchange, Adobe agrees to offer set discounted partner pricing* during Member’s 3-year commit term. 3-year commit allows budgeting for up to 3 years. With 3-year commit, you qualify for a discount level on all VIP Marketplace purchases during the 3-year commit term (up to 3 years, through 2 renewals). And you can add incremental licenses or Consumables (including Adobe Acrobat Sign Transactions and Stock Credit Packs) while only renewing the committed quantity during the 3-year commit term.

And by signing up for 3-year commit agreement, commercial and government members get a deeper discount as compared to an annual subscription commitment.  3-year commit is not available for Members with extended paid-up-front subscriptions.

Add additional licenses throughout the 3-year commit term at your set discounted partner price*.  In VIP Marketplace, you will work with your reseller to initiate the 3-year commit amendment.

Steps to getting started with the 3-year commit

Examples of 3-year commit agreements

When you accept 3-year commit, you agree to auto-renew a set number of licenses on your Anniversary Date during the 3-year commit term.  And in exchange, Adobe agrees to offer set discounted partner pricing* for you during the 3-year commit term. You will renew (annually) twice during the 3-year term at the set license quantity. Here are two examples:

Example A: Auto-renewal of Minimum Commitment during 3-year commit. An organization purchases 120 licenses. They immediately accept 3-year commit, agreeing to maintain a minimum of 120 licenses through the 3-year commit term. Their licenses renew automatically on their 2nd and 3rd Anniversary Dates.  

Example B: Ordering more than your Minimum Commitment does not increase your Minimum Commitment. An organization wants to commit to 1,000 Transactions but has not yet placed an order. Their reseller initiates a 3-year commit invitation set with a Minimum Commitment quantity of 1,000 Transactions. The Member accepts the 3-year commit agreement and places an order for 1,000 Transactions within seven days. Later, they add 20 licenses, but they are only obligated to maintain their Minimum Commitment quantity of 1,000 Transactions in years 2 and 3.

Product availability during a 3-year commit subscription term

Adobe is constantly innovating and may release new products available for purchase through VIP Marketplace at any time. If, after you’ve joined 3-year commit, a new product is released and becomes available for purchase through VIP Marketplace, then the initial price of that product will also be included in your 3-year commit pricing.

Adobe may discontinue the availability of a product at any time. If this occurs during a 3-year commit term, a Member can no longer purchase the product after its last sale date.

Promotional pricing under 3-year commit

Promotional pricing is available only for an initial qualifying purchase. Under 3-year commit, promotional licenses revert to standard license pricing at renewal, as only standard pricing is provided to the reseller for additional license purchases and renewals.

If your organization qualified for a multi-year promotional offer and has any licenses up for renewal while under 3-year commit, you can renew those licenses purchased under promotion using promotional pricing, until the promotion offer for those licenses expires. When a promotion offer expires, those licenses are renewed under 3-year commit using the standard partner price* set at the time of acceptance.
