Learn to organize, manage, and share InDesign Cloud documents.

  Cloud documents (Beta) is Adobe's cloud-native file type that is now available in beta for testing and feedback in InDesign.

Organize cloud documents

You can manage InDesign cloud documents on the Creative Cloud website and Creative Cloud desktop application. However, you must use the InDesign application to save and access Cloud documents.

Note:
  • Cloud documents will be enabled on the second launch of InDesign.
  • This is a geographically limited roll-out. Cloud documents will soon be available in all locales.
  1. From the InDesign application: Select Your files from InDesign home screen.

    From the Creative Cloud website: Go to Files > Files.

  2. From the InDesign application: Select   New folder to create and organize your cloud documents in a new folder.

    From the Creative Cloud website: Select the New button and then select   New folder to create and organize your cloud documents in a new folder.

    Tip:

    Select the checkbox for each cloud document to select multiple Cloud documents.

  3. Select the List view   icon or Thumbnail view   icon to toggle between the views.

    You can also select the   Sort icon to sort the cloud documents by Date modified, Name, or Reverse order.

Manage cloud documents

    • From the InDesign or Creative Cloud desktop application: Launch the app and select Your files.
    • From the Creative Cloud website: Go to Files.
  1. Select the file you want to manage from any of the following surfaces:

    • InDesign application: Right-click or select the checkbox for any InDesign cloud document.
    • Creative cloud application: Right-click any InDesign cloud document.
    • Creative cloud website: Select the checkbox for any InDesign cloud document.
  2. Select any of the following options:

    • Rename: Type the new name to rename.
    • Duplicate: Creates a cloud copy in the Your files section.
    • Move: Select a new location for your InDesign and then select Move again.
    • Delete: The deleted documents are archived and stored in the Deleted section.
    • Download: Downloads the Cloud document to your system.
    • Make available offline always: Keeps the latest version of the Cloud document available for offline editing.

Delete cloud documents permanently

  1. Open InDesign, the Creative Cloud website, or the Creative Cloud desktop application, and select Deleted.

  2. Select the file you want to delete from any of the following surfaces:

    • InDesign application: Select any InDesign cloud document.
    • Creative cloud application: Right-click any InDesign cloud document.
    • Creative cloud website: Select the checkbox for any InDesign cloud document.
  3. Select the Delete Permanently   icon. To learn more about storage quota, see File storage and quota.

Share cloud documents

    • From the Creative Cloud desktop application: Launch the app and select Your files.
    • From the Creative Cloud website: Go to Files.
  1. Select the file you want to share from any of the following surfaces:

    • Creative cloud application: Right-click any InDesign cloud document.
    • Creative cloud website: Select the checkbox for any InDesign cloud document.
  2. Select   Share.

  3. Type the name or email with which you want to share the document, and then select the Invite to edit button.
