Adobe Video and Audio products no longer support Rosetta

Starting with version 24.0, Adobe video and audio products no longer support Rosetta emulation (Intel versions running on Apple M1/M2).  Please be aware that the Creative Cloud desktop still shows the Rosetta option on M1/M2 machines, but this will still launch the native Apple Silicon version. Intel versions can only be run on Mac Intel machines.

The Open using Rosetta option is no longer available in the Get Info window.

General known issues

Unable to import .ape file on Windows running on Arm devices

Issue: The .ape audio file imports successfully in Adobe Audition on Windows systems with Intel or AMD processors, but fails to import in Adobe Audition on Windows devices with Arm-based processors.

Resolution: Currently, importing .ape files is supported only on Windows systems running on Intel or AMD processors.

Unable to decode Dolby audio on the new or fresh installs of Windows 11 version 24H2 devices

Issue: On devices running Windows 11 version 24H2 that are new or freshly installed, Dolby Digital audio (AC-3 / E-AC-3) is not decoded by default because the operating system no longer includes the built-in Dolby audio decoder. As a result, Adobe Audition is unable to decode or import Dolby audio streams and audio tracks embedded in video files.

Workaround: Adobe Audition does not rely on the Windows system codec to read WAV or PCM files. Therefore, converting Dolby audio to WAV/PCM before importing eliminates the dependency on the missing Dolby decoder.

Adobe video applications and macOS Sequoia compatibility issues

Issue: macOS 15 Sequoia asks permission every time before launching any video apps, including Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Media Encoder, Audition, and Character Animator.

Resolution: We'll let you know when a fix is available. Until then, you can try this workaround.

Known issue in Adobe Audition 23.6 (August 2023)

Audition crashes when performing DeClicker on a 192 KHz file

Issue: When performing DeClicker on a 192 kHz file, Audition crashes.

Workaround: Change the file's sample rate to a lower value and perform DeClicker.

Adobe Audition crashes during video import/edit/playback

Issue: Adobe Audition crashes on devices with pre-installed Nahimic drivers.

Workaround: Do one of the following:

  • Uninstall the Nahimic driver from the system.
  • If you don't want to uninstall Nahimic from your system, locate the Nahimic blocklist:
C:\ProgramData\AVolute\AVolute.Nahimic\Modules\Scheduled\Configurator\BlackApps.dat, add Adobe Audition.exe to the list, and save.

Known limitation in Adobe Audition 23.2 (February 2023)

MXF files in non-English name fails to import on windows

Limitation: File import failure on Windows when MXF files are imported with non-English characters (double-byte and accented characters) file path.

Workaround: Rename the file path with English-only characters.

List of known issues in Adobe Audition 22.5 (June 2022)

On macOS, there is an issue with opening audio/video or sequence in Audition from Premiere

Issue: If you try to open an audio/video clip or sequence in Audition (Edit > Edit in Adobe Audition > Sequence), a warning dialog appears asking you to install the latest version of Audition (even if you are using the latest version).

Workaround: In the warning dialog, select OK, and it works correctly.  Opening the .prproj(Premiere project) in Audition through native import (File > Import) also works correctly.
