Quickly generate images in lower resolution and then upscale them later to download in full resolution.

Try it in the app
Generate images for rapid ideation in a few simple steps.

With Fast mode in Text to image, you can quickly ideate, generate, and compare image variations with a 512x512 resolution. You can then download the images as is or use the Upscale option to convert them to 2K resolution for higher quality. Fast mode is best used for simple topics, backgrounds, most illustrations, and close portraits.

  1. Go to the Firefly website and select Text to image.

  2. Select any of the images from the gallery to go to the Text to image editor.

  3. In the General settings section, select Firefly Image 3 from the Model dropdown menu and enable Fast mode. Adjust other settings in the left panel as needed.

In the Text to image module, under General settings, the Model dropdown menu is open, displaying options such as Firefly Image 3, Firefly Image 2, and Fast mode. Currently, Firefly Image 3 is selected with Fast mode enabled.
Fast mode allows for rapid iterations and adjustments to generated images before committing to high-resolution versions.

  4. In the Prompt field, enter a detailed description of the image you wish to create. Then, select Generate to create image variations with a 512x512 resolution.

  5. Hover the cursor over the image you'd like to upscale.

There are four generated image variations and one of them is active with different options enabled, including Upscale.
Upscale and use high-resolution images for various applications, including large displays and digital projects.

  6. Select Upscale   to change the resolution to 2000x2000.

    Note:

Upscale uses one generative credit per image. An upscaled image will have the Upscale option grayed out.

  7. Download the image or explore other available editing options to make further adjustments.

Tip:

Select the History   icon to view the History strip, which shows all image generations in the current session and all upscaled images.
