Use any of your designs and follow along to share templates with controlled permissions.

Before you begin:

Review the exceptions to brand style restrictions on shared templates.

  1. Once your design is ready to be shared, select the Share button.

  2. In the Make a Template window, enter a name for the template.

  3. Open the Save to dropdown to save the template to existing Brands or Libraries, or select the   icon to create a new Brand or Library for the template.

  4. Select Note to type tips and guidance for the collaborator on how to use the template.

  5. Select Locks & Restrictions.

  6. Slide the toggles to add Editor restrictions and Lock restrictions.

    Editor restrictions:

    • Style controls: Access is limited to the colors and fonts in the selected Brand or Library, including neutral colors (black, white, transparent) and template fonts not in the brand.
    • Content controls: Access is restricted to Adobe’s media and template library. Access is limited to templates and available layers, preventing new content additions.

Lock restrictions: You can choose if collaborators remixing the template can unlock locked design elements. Lock restrictions are greyed out if no elements are locked. Learn how to lock design elements.

  7. Select Save restrictions, then select Save template.

  8. Once the template is saved, select Copy link to share the template.

The template restriction panel is open in Adobe Express with toggles switch Editor and Lock restrictions. A passkey is entered in the passkey section.
In the Lock restrictions section, you can optionally enter a passkey to allow collaborators to unlock layers if needed.
