VIP program guide: License term options

With VIP, the administration of licenses is very manageable and flexible, with license term options to meet your organization’s or institution's needs. And there’s no contract renewal or renegotiation necessary—only licenses need renewing each term, and you can adjust quantity and change products as needed. See the Renewal section for more information.

Subscription options: Annual, Extended, and 3-Year Commit

VIP offers three subscription term options to fit your organization’s needs:

Annual subscription

Annual subscription allows VIP Members to pay upfront for a 12-month license subscription. Your Anniversary Date is 12 months after the earlier of either (1) the date Adobe accepts your initial order or (2) your initial Purchase Authorization Date. Note: All terms default to an annual subscription at renewal.

Extended paid-up-front subscription

Prior to signing up for VIP, members may choose to pay up front for an extended term of up to 36 months (48 months for Government and Education members). This option makes it even easier for you to meet your purchasing and budgeting needs. With this option, you receive extended license periods and can select an Anniversary Date that aligns with your organization’s budget schedule. Please talk to your Account Manager about this option before signing up for VIP.

Note:

All terms default to an annual subscription at renewal.

3-year commit subscription

With a 3-year commit subscription option, you agree to order and renew a set number of licenses before your Anniversary Date during the 3-year commit term.  Also, you agree that the set number of licenses will auto-renew on your Anniversary Date in VIP Marketplace, if you migrate to VIP Marketplace.  And in exchange, Adobe agrees to offer set discounted pricing* for you during the 3-year commit term. You'll renew (annually) twice during the 3-year term at the set license quantity.

And by signing up for 3-year commit agreement, VIP Members get a deeper discount than an annual subscription commitment.  3-year commit isn't available for VIP Members with extended paid-up-front subscriptions.

Add additional licenses throughout the 3-year commit term at the set discounted price* Adobe agreed to offer you when you accepted the 3-year commit agreement.  If eligible, a link to the 3-year commit amendment will appear in the Account tab in the Adobe Admin Console and is viewable by VIP Member’s primary customer admin.

Term License option

VIP offers a 3-year Term License that does not include services or product updates. Adobe Acrobat Classic is the only product offered as a Term License. Acrobat Classic is sold as a 3-year non-renewing term license (using 36-month VIP extended term, paid upfront) and, once activated, can be used offline for the length of the term. Acrobat Classic does not include paid Adobe Document Cloud services. Members pay up front for a 3-year license term. Any licenses added during the 3-year term will co-terminate with the Anniversary Date. Acrobat Classic is a named-user license.

Note:

* Specific pricing is always set between the Account Manager and the VIP Member.  If you purchase through a reseller, your Account Manager is your reseller.  Adobe will offer the same price to Adobe’s direct channel partner during a 3-year commit term. Certain currencies may be affected by fluctuations in exchange rates.
