Generate video clips with text prompts and images in a few simple steps.

Generate video (beta) in Adobe Firefly transforms your written descriptions into video clips. Use text prompts to define the content, emotions, and settings, including camera angles, to guide camera movements and create videos that convey the desired mood and message. You can also incorporate images to provide visual cues for video generations.

  1. On the Adobe Firefly website, select Generate video.

  2. On the Generate video page, enter a text prompt in the Prompt field. You can also use the Upload option in the Image section to use an image for the first frame and provide a direction reference for the video clip.

The prompt bar shows a text prompt and an image is uploaded to guide the video generation.
Add an image to provide a clear visual guide to align the generated video more closely with your vision.

  3. In the General settings section, you can determine the Aspect ratio and Frames per second.

  4. In the Camera section, use the Shot size dropdown menu to specify the framing of the main subject within the videos.

    • Extreme close up: Zoom in to emphasize minute details, often on a single feature like an eye or a hand.
    • Close up shotFocus tightly on a subject’s face or a specific detail, highlighting important elements.
    • Medium shot: Frame the subject while still providing enough context to the environment and their surroundings.
    • Long shot: Include the entire subject within their environment, providing context and background.
    • Extreme long shot: Capture a broad view of the scene and show the relationship between the subject and the surroundings.
  5. Use the Camera angle dropdown menu to select from the available options:

    • None: Default camera angle
    • Aerial shot: A high-altitude view, like from a drone or a helicopter.
    • Eye level shot: A shot at the same height as the subject.
    • High angle shot: A view from above the subject, looking down on it.
    • Low angle shot: A view from below the subject, looking up at it.
    • Top down shot: A view directly above the subject, looking straight down.
    Note:

If an image is uploaded in the prompt bar, the Camera angle and Shot size options are disabled. The camera angle will be derived or used from the uploaded static image.

  6. Select from the available camera Motion options to guide the camera's movement within the generated video:

    • Zoom in: Move the camera lens closer to the subject, making it appear larger as the video proceeds.
    • Zoom out: Move the camera lens away from the subject, making it appear smaller as the video proceeds.
    • Move left: Rotate the camera horizontally to the left side.
    • Move right: Rotate the camera horizontally to the right side.
    • Tilt up: Shift the camera vertically upward.
    • Tilt down: Shift the camera vertically downward.
    • Static: Keep the camera fixed in one position without any movement.
    • Handheld: Simulate the effect of handheld camera footage, creating a shaky or unstable appearance.
  7. In the Advanced section, you can use the Seed option to add a seed number that helps start the process and controls the randomness of what the AI creates. If you use the same seed, prompt, and control settings, you can regenerate similar video clips.

  8. Select Generate .

After the video generation is complete, it will appear in the queue as ready for download to your local device.

The Text to video editor has a History panel that shows the recent generations and also displays the status of any generation in progress.
The History option allows quick access to previously generated video clips for easy comparison, iteration, and download.

Note:

Select the History   icon to show or hide the video generation history for only the current browser session. Selecting the preview images will load the generated video along with its settings.
