Illustrator may crash because of printer issues:
- Ensure that your printer is not running out of ink.
- Ensure that there are no errors with the network printer queue.
- Set up Adobe PDF as your default printer if your printer driver is faulty (Windows).
How to set up PDF as the default printer (Windows)

Select Adobe PDF and then select Manage.
If you can't find the PDF printer, choose any printer such as Microsoft XPS or Send it to OneNote.

Select Set as default and ensure that Allow Windows to manage My default printer option is deselected.
