Try performing Mic Check in Audition (Beta)
To install the Audition (Beta) app on your desktop, visit the Beta apps tab of your Creative Cloud desktop app and select Install next to Audition (Beta).
Learn how to test your mic's setup and ensure it's optimized for capturing clear, high-quality audio before any audio recording.
Mic Check, powered by AI, allows you to test your microphone setup and placement. Based on the test analysis, Adobe Audition suggests changes and adjustments you can make for superior audio recordings. These suggestions include distance to the microphone, gain, background noise, and echo.
Before you begin:
Ensure you have a microphone or input audio device plugged in for clear audio recording.

Use the Mic Check option under the Effects menu to start analyzing the mic setup.

In the Mic Check dialog box, under the Default Input section, use the Mic dropdown menu to select the default input device.

Select Test Mic to start recording the audio for mic setup analysis.
Note:To perform a successful test and analysis, speak for at least five seconds. The counter at the upper-right corner of the dialog box shows the recording time.

Select Stop Test to start analyzing the mic setup.

On successful analysis, you'll get the results and suggestions for the following parameters:

The range bar shows green when you're hitting the sweet spot and red when you need to move closer or back away for the best audio.
- Gain: Amplification applied to the microphone signal. The range bar shows green when the gain is higher, and the microphone signal amplifies appropriately, making quiet sources more audible.
- Background Noise: The amount of background noise that impacts the recording quality. The range bar shows red when the recorded audio has a high background noise and indicates minimizing it for clear and professional audio.
- Echo: Delayed repetition of the audio that can impact the quality and clarity of your recording. The range bar shows red if the delayed repetition is masking the original audio and needs to be corrected.
