Learn how to initiate a review from within InDesign

Share for Review is a feature that allows you to easily share your InDesign documents with collaborators for feedback and review. By providing a centralized platform for comments and annotations, it streamlines the review process and promotes efficient collaboration among team members.

Share your documents as a public link or with specific stakeholders
Share your documents as a public link or with specific stakeholders

Share for Review lets you create a shareable link of your document where stakeholders can provide feedback. Once stakeholders add comments, you automatically view them in the app. You can Reply to and Resolve comments, and push updates to the same link to continue the review cycle.

Create a shareable review link

  1. Create an InDesign document or open an existing one.

  2. Select File > Share for Review and then select Create link.

  3. Set access permission and rename the link if required.

    Access level

    Anyone with the link can comment   

    Creates a public link that anyone can access. Invitation by email is optional.

    Only invited people can comment   

    Creates a private link that cannot be accessed without an invite by email.

  4. Select Copy and share the link with stakeholders.

Note:

You can save the shared document after receiving comments from stakeholders using File > Save. However, if you use File > Save As, it clears the review comments in the document.

Caution:

If you can't access existing review information, such as review comments and collaborators' email IDs, upgrade to the latest version and try opening the document to access the information.

Manage review links

  1. Create an InDesign document or open an existing one.

  2. Select File > Share for Review and then select Create link.

  3. Set access permission and rename the link if required.

  4. Select the ellipsis   icon to:

    • Create new review link: Create additional review links. All the setting changes and in-app comments are added only to the latest review link.
    • Link settings: Enable or turn off commenting and set passwords on public links.
    • Delete review link: Delete the latest review link.
    • Manage review links: View all the review links in the Published tab on the Creative Cloud website.

Update shared links

  1. Open any shared InDesign document and make changes per your requirement.

  2. Select Share > Update content   .

Tip:

Stakeholders can refresh the document to see updates without affecting feedback. Update review links to reflect changes without creating new ones, preserving existing comments. Manage, create, or delete reviews for your designs online.
