The Heal tool helps remove unwanted elements and imperfections from photos - like stray hair or distracting objects in the background. Unlike traditional editing methods that involve complex cloning or removing processes, the Heal tool simplifies photo correction while preserving the integrity of the image.

  1. On the Lightroom on the web homepage, select All Photos.

  2. Select an image to open it in detail view, and then select Remove  .

  3. Select the Heal   icon and adjust the brush intensity using the following sliders:

    • Size: Adjusts the size and brush diameter.
    • Feather: Adjusts the soft-edged transition between the brushed area and the surrounding pixels in the target area.
    • Opacity: Adjusts the opacity of the adjustment applied to the target area.
  4. Select and paint over the imperfection or object you want to remove. Lightroom will automatically sample nearby pixels to blend the area.

    Tip:

Select Refresh to update the selected spot with different content.

  5. Once you have brushed over the object and its shadow, use the Refine controls to access the Feather and Opacity slider in the Refine panel.

    Note:

You can also select the Remove and Clone tools to apply to the edit.

  6. Select the Show Overlay to view the pins when you hover over an image to show the pins of the removed spots.

  7. Select Share .
