Error 501 causes installation failure

Error code 501 occurs when the Creative Cloud installer cannot proceed because a required file is in use by another application or background process.

To fix this error, save your work and close the app or process listed in the error log. If you are unable to close the app, follow these steps:

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Task Manager

Navigate to the Processes tab.

Find the app or process mentioned in the error log.

Right-click it and select End task to close this process.

Return to the installer and select Retry to continue the installation.
