Generative Fill and Generative Expand are available in Photoshop for commercial use

Now available in the public Photoshop desktop app for general availability

Use Firefly-powered Generative Fill and Generative Expand, Adobe's powerful generative AI technologies, to add, expand, or remove content from your images non-destructively, using simple text prompts within the app in over 100 languages to achieve realistic results that will surprise, delight, and astound you—in seconds.

Generative Fill and Generative Expand automatically match the perspective, lighting, and style of your image to deliver results that are mind-blowing.

The newly generated content you get is created in a Generative layer, to which you can apply the power and precision of Photoshop and take your image to the next level, exceeding even your own expectations.

Generative Fill and Generative Expand are designed to be safe for commercial use. Firefly is trained on Adobe Stock's hundreds of millions of professional-grade, high-resolution images that are among the highest quality in the market.

An engaging learning journey with Generative Fill

Experience the power of Generative Fill in transforming a scene with a preloaded asset upon launching the app.

Work with an interactive and contextual learning experience, including a series of videos, that will guide you to generate variations.

Setting standards for responsibility and transparency

With the latest release of Photoshop, you now have access to a Generative AI model that is ethically sourced via Adobe Stock.

What this means is Photoshop will automatically append Content Credentials to images generated using Generative Fill and Generative Expand and exported as PNG, JPG, or "Save as."

This will let you know if an image was created or edited in Photoshop using Firefly's Generative AI technology.

New interactions in Remove tool

Use the Remove tool to draw a loop around an area you want to make disappear instead of brushing over it entirely.

With this new interaction, you don't even need to close the loop, as Photoshop will determine the distance to auto-connect the loop and remove distractions. This helps reduce brushing errors and can save time.

And if you make accidental selections while encircling an area, change the brush stroke mode in the options bar from addition to subtraction to make a correction.

More additions to the Contextual Task Bar (common tools and actions in a bar on the canvas) are available to help you take the appropriate next steps with your masking and generative AI workflows.
