Remove distractions in photos with Generative Remove

Remove with Generative AI is now available with improved selection and object detection. Generative Remove lets you easily select and remove objects on complex backgrounds without any hassle.

Detect Objects lets you detect an object within the roughly brushed area to help you make a precise selection when you want to preserve as many details as possible from the scene.

  1. In the Develop module, select Remove    > Detect objects.

    Object Aware is highlighted
    Select Detect Objects checkbox.

  2. Roughly brush over the object you want to remove.  You can adjust the brush Size to make a precise selection.

    Note:

By roughly brushing around the object of interest, the whole object would be selected.

  3. Once you have selected an object, you can use the refine controls to make the following selections:

    • Add - Add areas to the selection.
    • Subtract - Subtract areas from the selection.

You can adjust the brush Size in the selected panel and change the Overlay color.

  4. Select the Remove button in the selected panel.

  5. Generative AI powered by Adobe Firefly can be combined with Detect objects to analyze and automatically select the object and remove it for optimal results.

  6. Select Reset if you want to cancel the changes made.

Secure your digital assets with Content Credentials

Content Credentials help secure digital assets by attaching credentials like digital signature, editing information, and more while exporting or sharing an image online. In Lightroom Classic, you can easily add Content Credentials to your photos when exporting them in JPEG.
