Learn about new features and enhancements in the October 2023 release of InDesign (version 19.0).

Auto Style multiple text frames, create and manage Style Packs

Simplify complex styling tasks by styling multiple text frames with Auto Style. You can use our preset Style Packs or create and manage your own Style Packs for document-specific changes and across your InDesign account.

Note:

Auto Style is only available in English (International), English (North America), and German locales.

Search text and customize analytics in published documents

Integrate your Google Measurement ID while publishing your documents to measure traffic and engagement. You can now search your published documents for specific text from any device. While you can only search text from touch devices, you can search and copy text from desktops and laptops.

File name suffix in JPEG and PNG exports

Add suffixes like incremental numbers, page number, and page size while exporting to JPEG or PNG formats. You can distinguish and easily filter the same file saved in different sizes for different platforms or stakeholders based on the suffixes.

Hide spreads

Do you want to leave out your draft spreads while presenting or exporting a document? You can now hide spreads in InDesign. The hidden spreads won't be visible in Presentation mode or when you export your document to PNG, JPEG, PDF (Print), or PDF (Interactive) format.

Harfbuzz as the default shaping engine under World Ready Composer

With Harfbuzz as the default shaping engine under World Ready Composer, you can view improved shaping and correct rendering of glyphs for Indic and MENA languages in InDesign.
